862

Hours Restored

What This Means

Many unhoused neighbors face long walks (sometimes 4+ hours round trip) just to access a shower. By providing mobile hygiene services, we cut that travel time dramatically. These 862 hours saved represent time our neighbors can now spend on work, family, or just taking care of themselves instead.

The Double Barrier

Justice-involved individuals face compounded barriers to hygiene access โ€” limited mobility, transportation challenges, and discrimination at traditional facilities.

BeHeard's mobile showers reach exactly where these barriers are highest.

Refresh Stories

Every number has a name, a story, and a reason they showed up. These stories come from real moments we witnessed throughout the month.

Tulsa & OKC โ€” March 2026 Impact Journal

March was an incredible month for us here at BeHeard Movement. We served 380 of our neighbors, and so many of them shared heartfelt stories that remind us of why we do this work. A striking 82% of those we met were unsheltered, and 63% hadn't showered in over 30 days. Just imagine the toll that takes on a person. One of our neighbors, Guy, said it best: "Getting all the crud off me makes me feel better." He hadn't showered in three weeks after experiencing eviction. Just one shower can brighten someone's day. Over 80% of folks felt an improvement in their mental well-being after using our services. This month, we saw incredible transformations, like Marlon, who once stayed at a shelter and is now thriving at Jimmy John's. His journey offers hope for many. And it doesn't stop there! We were on-site talking to barbers when one of them called out to a guest, marveling at her cute curls. She hadn't had a haircut in ages, and after a little TLC, her joy was obvious as she waved and smiled. That moment, that sense of joy and confidence โ€” it's just priceless. This month, we noticed that 47% of our neighbors didn't have case managers. Many are navigating life's challenges, working hard, raising kids, and keeping it together without a support system. For many, including veterans and those involved in the justice system, access to hygiene and self-care can feel far out of reach. Our work is about more than just showers and laundry. It's about dignity. Everyone deserves clean clothes, a shower, and a moment to feel like themselves again. Hygiene matters, and we're in this together โ€” our mission is to ensure everyone has access to these basic needs. Thank you for being part of this journey with us!
